Business owners are concerned about paying their rent.
People are concerned they will be laid-off.
The wealthiest people and corporations are worried that they won't be able to continue their success.
So if you have been feeling a little on edge (or, who are we kidding, spiraling) about how to bring in the money, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! It might feel lonely because most people don't publicize their struggle, but it's currently rare for a person to feel totally secure about their livelihoods.
At the same time, there are employers and employees who are:
I work with people every week who are concerned about their career, insulted by their company's mistreatment, or terrified of taking the leap into their passion-project. At any point we have two perspectives to choose from:
Which side do you find yourself on currently?
Last week, at the Sacred Circle I facilitate in SWFL, we had a group of brave practitioners, energy workers, and healers share their experiences and struggles. Speaking the truth in a safe space is incredibly healing. Naming our fears exposes those limiting beliefs to the wind so they can be released for good.
We all have fears at some point when we think of our career. The reason? We're SUPPOSED to. We chose to come live a life that was a full, all-you-can-eat buffet of things we want (like the baked potato bar) and things we do NOT want (like the jello section... no. why.)
And if we are noticing our struggles, it means we are alive! It means we care deeply about what we're doing. And it means that we are still in-tune with our desires enough to be able to hear them. Go us!
The problem is that we sometimes are taught to continue to heap jello on our plates because of some limiting belief like, my family always eats jello, or I'm not worthy of anything better than jello. And we camp out in jobs that were meant to be stepping stones, or we opt-in for professions that appease our grandmothers more than ourselves.
In Sacred Circle, once we named our fear, we didn't stop there. We held our business to be SACRED, trusting that the Spirit of our Businesses had the answer to whatever was keeping us from realizing the meaningful calling we have accepted. The full answer to the struggle might not be able to show itself to us all at once, but we can always tune into the NEXT best step.
The wisdom is within.
Our businesses and careers are an extension of ourselves, and it's powerful to know that we can always connect with our inner guidance to find a way through.
And THAT PROCESS brings about the JOY of navigating a career and a business. That is the reward - being all twisted and knotted up into a problem until BOOM, you find the thought-path to the solution you had been looking for until it transforms your journey in the best way possible.
Anyone who is successful with their career knows how to grapple with their fears, love them deeply for the focus they bring, and move to the other side with renewed passion and motion forward.
So what fear can you love today? Can you relish the fact that you might be clueless as to your true desire in business? Can you enjoy the process of perfecting the art of paying rent every month? Can you at least accept these journeys are here not to crush your Spirit, but to lift you up to new heights?
